Application and Operation
This “Thermostop” safety valve is equipped with two safety mechanisms:
- An excess-flow valve: Activates between 110% of the rated capacity and the point at which the hose disconnects from the regulator.
- A thermal shut-off valve: Engages if temperatures exceed the range of 120 °C to 160 °C. If the thermal shut-off valve is triggered (for example, due to a fire), the valve can no longer be used and must be replaced with a new one.
For the excess-flow valve to function correctly, the cylinder valve must be in the fully open position.
The excess-flow valve cuts off the flow of gas to prevent excessive discharge caused by damage to LPG pipelines, for instance during an earthquake. In the event of an excess-flow situation not related to an earthquake, the system can be reset by pressing the reset button on the valve body, which restores the gas flow.
In the event of a gas leak, immediately close the cylinder valve and resolve the issue causing the leak.
Pressure Gauge
The pressure gauge indicates the status of the cylinder based on the position of the needle:
- Full: Green section, 4–16 bar.
- Reserve: Yellow section, 2–4 bar.
- Empty: Red section, 0–2 bar.
