Applications
Suitable for all types of gas as specified in EN 437 and DVGW G260/2013 standards (Methane, Butane, Propane).
- GST® is a DIN 30652-1 certified device that blocks the gas flow automatically when the flow rate exceeds the minimum trip threshold of the device, in the event of tampering or accidental system disconnection, for example in a fire or if pipes burst.
- GST® is equipped with an automatic reset system.
- Available as a single fitting or, thanks to its compactness, as a device built into shut-off valves.
- Does not require maintenance.
Safety
GST® devices are installed to protect the system and guarantee a higher safety level in the following cases:
- Tampering, both criminal and unintentional, performed by unauthorised personnel.
- Systems using non-metal pipes, to protect against the risk of explosion due to fire (DVGW VP632).
- Breakage or disconnection of hoses for gas appliances.
- Breakage of pipes due to natural disasters.
Installing GST in a gas system raises the safety level because it intervenes even when the cause is not related to the system itself (passive safety).
- It is maintenance-free.
- It does not require the periodic checks needed to ensure correct operation of components with active activation.
- It cannot be disabled by an external action.
It remains functional even while GST® is undergoing maintenance.
Choosing the GST®
The GST must be chosen according to the following parameters:
- Working pressure: Pe 15–100 mbar.
- Application: Natural gas, LPG.
- Total installed power of individual downstream appliances: Σ kW.
- Type of installation: Main pipeline, offtake pipeline.
- System piping: Metal (M), Plastic (K).
